Ole Piper story

Bar, Restaurant…Community Center?

Talk about a restaurant with an identity crisis. When I walked into the place I thought, okay, it’s a bar. Big Buck Safari game and Silver Strike Bowlers game, pull tabs, log cabin interior and lots of construction workers nursing a beer for lunch. But there are a lot of tables and a family-friendly menu and even a kid’s menu. Okay, it’s a restaurant. Then I sat down with the manager and by the time we finished talking, I realized what this place is…a community center!

Ole Piper Inn has been in his family for three generations. But that’s really not what Travis wanted to talk about. What excites him is how their business has become an integral part of the communities around them.

For instance, they sponsor a large number of school teams in the local communities by having fund-raisHave your favorite foods Delivered!ers for them. They also donate to several schools in the area. To build on their family-friendly atmosphere, they have a family fun night with KinderCare featuring clowns or balloon-makers. Families can also come there late at night after an event or school sports and enjoy the full menu.

They also have a wide range of fun nights out for singles. For instance, Ladies Night is Friday with $1 tap beers and $1.50 rails for the ladies. In addition, they have give-a-ways all night featuring products from Victoria Secret, Bed, Bath & Beyond and local flower shops.

Wednesday night is Bar Bingo night with state-wide prizes up to $15,000. They also have NTN Trivia with free drinks or appetizers for the winners and X-Box 360 and Wii competitions for drinks, prizes or just for fun. And don’t forget the pull-tabs.

The menu features a wide range of appetizers with prices running from $3 to $12. They also have Soups by the cup or bowl and 5 different Salads averaging around $8-$9. The rest of the menu is pretty extensive with a nice selection of pizzas from $14-$20, a small pasta selection, grilled food, hoagies, steaks, wraps, fried chicken, seafood and Mexican. You can easily get a dinner here for under $15.

Ole Piper Inn delivers everything on their menu. Call them to see if you’re within their extensive territory. They also offer catering for just about any menu. They are located at 16604 Cedar Ave. South, Rosemont, MN 55066. Phone: (952) 432-7111. Hours - M-Sat 11:00am - 1:00am, Sun 11:00am - 12:00am.
